Climate Crisis and Grazing Land: The Rich Are Implicated

February 28, 2026

This Earth system is self-contained, linking everything from the smallest microbe to the 5,000-meter-high volcano. If one part changes, it has consequences for all the others. This process began with the formation of the Earth; today, 4.5 billion years later, humanity has become the decisive factor. A species that is overburdening the Earth system.

Fifty years ago, warnings about climate change were already sounded with urgency. What followed was another development of the same kind, continuing to this day.

Each of us follows it. Whoever now believes, as here stated, that there are ways to balance these changes, does not understand the complex systems, which due to their complexity are very sensitive and cannot even be “repaired” easily. This repair would be a new intervention whose consequences would follow.

There are too many examples! Australia = carp, Australia = rabbits, the cane toad, and so on. Desalination of seawater will also carry consequences, the energy consumption alone is immense.

Perception abstracts the problem; the statement “We must save the climate” is a mistake. We must save ourselves.
