Trump’s Climate Policy: Instead of Millions for the Economy, Lawsuits Likely

February 18, 2026

What should one wish for the American president besides a life as long as possible? If Florida, including Mar-a-Lago, must sink into the sea, it would be nice if he could witness it.

Trump behaves no differently from the German government. But clinging to dirty, outdated technologies will not help either German or American industry, but will cause them to lose touch with the rest of the world.

In a time when a Chinese automaker is rising to become the largest producer of electric cars, clinging to the internal combustion engine, which is already not wanted by anyone in China today, will enable Germans, due to mental inertia and inactivity, to lose the international technology race.

Trump, of course, must go further. Countering the march of cheap solar and hydropower with American combustion products shows foresight and will surely increase the profits of American industry.

Thus, for all of us, good news: the United States shrink themselves through internal strife and technological backwardness, and thereby remove themselves from the game.
